Transportation is provided on all operating days to and from the Center. Regular routes are planned according to location of individuals and include transportation to and from Lockesburg-DeQueen area, Dierks, Tollette, Mineral Springs, and Murfreesboro. Men and women in residential facilities are provided transportation daily to work/training, and for personal needs. All transporting is conducted by members of the staff.b. Admission criteria1. 1. Safety and Maintenance
a. All buses are equipped with seat belts and/or federally approved car seats for each individual riding the bus.
b. A maintenance supervisor provides all necessary repair and preventive maintenance for all vehicles according to manufacturer’s schedule and maintenance records for such, and has vehicles inspected and licensed annually.
c. At least quarterly emergency bus evacuations will be conducted and documented by staff.
d. All vehicles will be equipped with a fire extinguisher and first aid kit.
e. No individual will be left at home unattended unless previous written release is signed by parent/guardian and is received by the Center. Arrangements for alternate sites for pick-up and delivery are made by the parent/guardian through the bus driver. If a parent is not at home, the individual will be returned to the Center. If the parent/relative can’t be located, the individual will be taken to the local police station. The individuals Coordinator will be notified and will take responsibility for the individual until the parents are located.f. There will be no eating, drinking, smoking, chewing tobacco or dipping snuff on vehicles.
2. Requirements for Bus Drivers (Regular Daily Routes) are to:
a. Possess current CDL license. b. Secure TB skin test. c. Become certified in CPR, and first aid. d. Receive in-service training regarding any new regulations or policies. e. Be responsible for delegating authority to responsible adult for supervision of medically involved and/or profoundly disabled in a bus with 10 or more individuals.
f. Be responsible for keeping all individuals in designated seats with seat belts fastened.
g. Be responsible for conducting emergency evacuation drills every 3 months, recording procedure and filing with secretary.
h. Be responsible for conducting daily inspection on buses according to form.
i. Be responsible for preventing eating, drinking, smoking and dipping tobacco.
All vehicles will be sufficiently covered by insurance, including comprehensive, liability, and property damage as recommended by Center’s insurance company.
4. All Center vehicles being used during times between regular bus routes will be checked out through the office where a schedule is posted. All keys remain in the office.
5. Logs are kept in all vehicles and must be maintained by every person driving them.
