HCCC Receives Recycling Grant From Weyerhaeuser

The Howard County Children’s Center accepted a $2000 grant from Weyerhaeuser on Friday, October 29th  to expand the center’s recycling program into the Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas.  According to Assistant Director Rose Ray, bins have been purchased and will be placed at the Nashville and De Queen college campuses.  They will be used to recycle a variety of office waste, including magazines, newspapers and copy paper.  Once the bins are filled up, they’ll be taken to the children’s center for recycling.  A number of area school districts have similar programs already in place with the Howard County Children’s Center.  Nashville CCCUA campus director Mike Kinkade and Weyerhaeuser Human Resource Manager Debbie Burke was on hand for the grant presentation.
